Stihl has designed this MS251 semi pro chainsaw with efficiency in mind. Benefitting from a highly powerful 2-stroke petrol engine with a 2-mix system, it results in a 20% lower fuel consumption and greatly reduced emissions compared to other 2-stroke models.

What’s more, the fuel and air ratio is controlled by an advanced compensator. This prevents the carburettor’s fuel-air mixture becoming rich in petrol and the air filter becoming clogged. Only the right amount of fuel is delivered depending on the volume of air being sucked in, resulting in constant engine power. This Stihl chainsaw also benefits from a pre-separation air filtration system, which means longer filter life.

Finally, Stihl has produced the MS251 chainsaw with its Ematic chain lubrication system. To make the chains last longer and reduce friction, the system lubricates the saw chains links and guide bar rails, resulting in less wear and up to 50% less oil c

Additional features

HD2 filter is made from polyethylene filter material with up to 70% finer pores than fleece and polyamide filters to trap even very fine dust. In addition, it is oil and water-repellent and thus very easy to clean. The PET-covered filter cartridge with quick-release lock enables the filter to be assembled and disassembled in next to no time, without using tools.

STIHL ElastoStart reduces the shock caused by the compression of the engine during starting. The compression shock is taken away from the user’s joints and muscles through a spring or rubber element in the starter handle.
