The Stihl HT 131 is a petrol-powered pole saw that is their most powerful pole pruner, and its extendable telescopic shaft allows it to prune branches up to 5 meters off the ground. There are various lengths available, ranging from 2.7m to 3.9m. Stihl utilizes its revolutionary 4-MIX® engine technology to provide power to the HT 131. By including the Picco Micro Mini chain as standard, the HT131 makes a perfect branch trimming tool. The multi-function control handle houses all controls for the Stihl HT131, making it easy to operate and manage. You can easily regulate it with your thumb.
This pole saw also has an anti-vibration system built into it that dampens the engine oscillations, which reduces vibrations at the controls substantially.
Additionally, the manual fuel pump and the system that controls decompression help reduce the number of pulls required for starting after a break-in operation and the force needed to pull the starter rope.
Versatile cutting.
Telescopic tools are always pretty versatile, and the HT 131 is no exception. The pole can be adjusted from 2.7m to 3.9m, allowing for a maximum reach of 5m. This machine has a 12 inch / 30 cm bar and Picco Micro Mini chain supplied as standard, making trimming difficult branches easy.
It’s safer to cut branches with this tool too, with no need to get out step ladders on uneven ground.

Up until now, I had been using a ladder and chainsaw to trim high up branches. Getting old now, so I though I would purchase a pole saw.
The HT 131 was recommended to me, as it’s basically a chainsaw on a pole, and it really is so much safer.
